Continuing Education Requirements as of 01.2025
Per Dol.Wa.Gov

First Active Renewal: For your first license renewal, you must complete 90 hours of continuing education, including:

• 30-hour Advanced Practices Course
• 30-hour Real Estate Law Course
• 3-hour Current Issues in Washington Residential Real Estate Course
• 3-hour Washington Real Estate Fair Housing course
• 24 hours of misc. courses

Subsequent Active Renewals: After your first renewal, you must complete 30 hours of continuing education for each renewal, including:

• 3-hour Current Issues in Washington Residential Real Estate Course
• 3-hour Fair Housing course
• 24 hours of misc. courses

Timing Rules:

• At least 15 hours must be completed within 24 months of renewal.
• Up to 15 hours can be from courses taken within 48 months, as long as they weren’t used for a previous renewal.

Inactive Licenses

• Continuing education is not required to renew an inactive license.
• If you want to reactivate your license, you may need to complete continuing education courses.
